How do you usually mark a word as slang/dialect? This is... \Mike 20 mei 2008 19:58 (CEST)[reageer]

Hi Mike, this is a very good question. I had a look, but I could not find such a template. Maybe someone else knows the right template. As far as I know, we use different sections for the languages and dialect are treated as ordinary languages. Instead of using templates like {{=nld=}}, we add a suffix, indicating the type of the dialect, e.g. {{=vls-ovl=}} for the dialect spoken in East-Flanders. These suffixes are not standardised though. I don't think we ever touched this potentially hot potato. Certainly not exhaustively. We do have something dysfemism and 'scheldwoord' I think but for the rest we occasionally add things like 'formeel' and 'informeel', but that's about it. Jcwf 20 mei 2008 21:27 (CEST)[reageer]
Oh, and Mike: thanks for cleaning up sv/swe!
Yes, I forgot to say this, thanks a lot Mike. Annabel(overleg) 20 mei 2008 21:36 (CEST)[reageer]
My hesitation stems from being uncertain whether it is actually used as the standard word in any particular dialect, but as slang/very informal it is used in most, if not all, parts of Sweden. So, at least I'll go for "informeel". Thanks for the hint! I also added a bunch of more regional/dialectal synonyms at potatis - if someone please could have a look to make sure I didn't mess anything up over there? \Mike 22 mei 2008 06:45 (CEST)[reageer]
